The Beach House at Onetangi

The Beach House at Onetangi is the owners' own residence — a spacious, private beachfront home available for guests who want something truly special on Waiheke Island.

Spread across 150 square metres, the house sits directly opposite Onetangi Beach behind distinctive mud-brick walls that create a sense of complete privacy. Electric shutters open to reveal stunning sea views, connecting the generous indoor living spaces seamlessly to the beach beyond.

Inside, the house is warm, characterful and filled with original Waiheke artwork. The upstairs master bedroom has a queen bed, ensuite and uninterrupted ocean views — guests love the window seat, or "the perch" as it's become known, perfect for watching the comings and goings on Onetangi Beach with a book in hand. Downstairs, the second bedroom has a king bed (which can be split into two singles) and its own ensuite. The library/TV room contains a new sofa bed adding a third sleeping option for children or the occasional guest.

The full kitchen with gas stove opens to a large indoor-outdoor dining and entertaining area. Step outside to a private elevated terrace surrounded by mature palms and cycads — ideal for morning coffee, long lunches, and evening entertaining. Tucked away in the garden is a private spa pool, perfect after a day on the beach.

Three restaurants — Ki Māha, Charlie Farley's and Three Seven Two — are a short walk away. The bus stop, café and local Four Square are equally close. No car needed.
